ICTs and Environmental Sustainability: Watch for GISWatch at Rio+20!

APC staff is taking part in the Rio+20 People’s Summit and the UN conference on sustainable development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to report on the inclusion of sustainability and ICTs in both formal and informal discussions, among civil society, the private sector and governments.

The longstanding work developed by APC and its members on the environment and ICTs allows us to look back on the past twenty years to learn how civil society participation has changed UN processes like this and encourage people to take a deeper look at both challenges and solutions related to ICTs and the environment.

The 2010 edition of Global Information Society Watch on ICTs and Environmental Sustainability is one important outcome of work done in this area over the last many years. We invite you to check it out!
