Arun M is a free software activist and one of the founding members of
Free Software Foundation of India, third chapter of the International
Free Software Foundation. He has been working with Governments to
improve the adoption of Free Software within public institutions. He
was instrumental in migration of schools in Kerala to free software.
He worked as Executive Director of Society for Promotion of Alternate
Computing and Employment(SPACE) an organisation working on adoption of
free software for social development. He was a board member of Software
Freedom Law Center in India. He holds a graduate degree in Computer
Science and Engineering(University of Kerala) and post graduate degree
in Applied Economics (Jawaharlal Nehru University). Currently a research
fellow at Center for Development Studies.
